Thilan Dhanushka
Thilan received an iPhone in July 2018. We followed up with him to learn how our donation has affected his quality of life.
I’m Thilan Dhanushka. I am totally blind. I live in Kurunegala. Presently, I don’t have a regular job, but I have my own musical band.
Two years ago, I was donated an Apple iPhone. It was a real life changer for me. It’s as if my eyesight was restored.
The iPhone’s accessibility features are very good and have helped me become more independent. I use GarageBand to create music. Before, when I wanted to call someone, I had to remember their phone number. Now, I can call anyone within seconds by using Siri. I travel a lot using public transport, and Google Maps comes in handy all the time.
I am speechless with gratitude for the donors who gave me such an expensive phone which I could never have been able to purchase on my own. It has made life easier for me.
